So for a while now I’ve been dipping my toe into the world of web development. Slightly out of left field? Sure. But from what I can tell, when art and design meet up with tech and have a baby… there is a lot, I mean A LOT of possibility there.
When I was about 13, it was a required part of our computer class curriculum that we learn how to write HTML. Yup… 8th graders writing code. I even had my own little “website” featuring pictures and text of all of my favorite things, which, for thirteen year old me was inclusive of everything from zebras and bass guitar, to Simple Plan and clothing from Hot Topic. But once the class was over, for the most part, I decided to forget all about tags and elements and the power of tech skills. I only cared about one thing, and that was making art.
Fast forward to 2017 where once again, I find myself interested in coding.
So here I am, dipping my toe…
I’ve taken a couple of classes with Girl Develop It! – Cincinnati.
I’ve started the bones for my own website, that will ultimately replace this one.
And now, I’m about to make my 5th out of five pull requests on GitHub for Hacktoberfest and I am pretty freaking proud of myself for even trying to participate.
CHECK. IT. OUT.
So much more to come from me, so stay tuned…
Love & Light,
